A CHALLENGE TO KEVIN FRANKISH & ANYONE ELSE WHO WANTS TO WIN!

CHALLENGE TO WIN!

I'd like to challenge Kevin Frankish from Breakfast Television (Toronto) to continue to get healthier in the month of FEBRUARY, 2012 and WIN with his journey to lose weight.


 I have heard Kevin say that he has reached a plateau in his journey to lose weight and get healthier. I totally understand this stage when it seems no matter how well you are doing with your get-healthy routine of proper diet and exercise, there aren't any noticeable results.

This stage can be very frustrating since we are making the necessary changes (that aren't always fun changes, but are important) and yet with all we are doing, or not doing (not eating too much of the wrong things), we aren't seeing any results.

I believe by challenging Kevin Frankish for this month of February, it will give me the added incentive to win also. We (his audience of BT and readers of this blog) are all rooting for him and I'm excited to really step up to this challenge for my own benefit. Anyone who wants to join in this challenge is more than welcome to work towards a win for themselves for this month of February. I'd love to hear comments of how everyone is doing.


A little bit of information about me, Paula Wilson, from the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario, CANADA...

I have struggled with my weight for a number of years. Nothing exceptionally worrisome but just those few annoying excess pounds that always seem to be so elusive to work at losing.
Well, those few elusive pounds have increased in the last 5 years as a result of a more sedentary lifestyle as a result of retirement years.

Now I'm to the point that I would like to lose 50 pounds, but if not all this goes and just some weight is lost in this month, I will still be very happy.

"THE JOUNEY BEGINS" again...... 

I haven't done my treadmill exercise for about a year, well, maybe not that long, as I was journaling it in my Etsy Team discussions. The TEAM is called "Weight Loss TEAM" .

Aha, I found my last post of working out on the treadmill and I was correct it wasn't anywhere near a year ago, (even though it feels like it).  It was here in this post in the Weight Loss Team...

I wrote:

I feel so much better knowing I wasn't slacking as terribly as I had imagined initially. Still that isn't good that it was way back in Sept of last year.
But...
I am SO HAPPY that I am getting back to my journal-ling and my treadmill routine.

My favorite meal first thing in the morning is HIGH FIBER CEREAL. 

Today I had a bowl of honey nut cheerios plus one tablespoon of natural bran sprinkled over it. 2% milk, and 2 instant coffees with milk and a level tsp white sugar. (GOT TO Have My Coffees! lol )

*NOTE. my ears are ringing extremely loud this morning. must be all this treadmill stuff. lol

I wish I had a pressure cuff to check my bp. then again, maybe I don't want to know? Last time I checked it, in town at those pharmacy units, it was 180/86, so I went and got a Dr's appoint and that will be in a couple of days, Feb. 1st/12.

Old Patterns Still Prominent ~ I don't like journaling but I'll pursue

My old habits are of course still very much apart of my life and one habit I have always had is the one where I try to journal events in my life, like this journey I'm on, and I always fall short. I'm not consistent about it and usually I just give up. I really do not like to journal. Never have. Probably never will.

However, my journey is about changing my lifestyle including habits like this one that may try to impede this journey's success.

So, onward............... lol ;-)

I've already beat this silly journaling snag by entering my new post here today. Yay! One success!

Now to get on the treadmill and do my 30 min's for today and continue my Journey....

It's 7am and I have cleaned up the kitchen, taken out the garbage & recyclables,  got the cat's day organized (all 3 of them fed, water changed, had their milk, and let them outside for a roam around). Now to start my day. >^..^<

Well, really my day starts after I finish up my 2 coffees while I work on my online business, then get dressed and feed the cardinals, blue jays, chickadees, hummingbirds, and orioles and others that happen along to the feeders I have just outside my kitchen window.
I don't have to water my patio plants today as we had a very heavy downpour last night and everything is well watered. I had to get up to watch that storm last night as it was a whizz-bang, close by lightening storm. It was quite the show.

DAY 1

Today is the day to start my journey.

Let's see if this works.

My Experiment :
 30 minutes of exercise at least 3 x's a week.  Will it make a difference in my life?

I will give this experiment a try and see what 30 days will do for me.

Current stats:

* 184 pounds
* high blood pressure
* ringing in my ears
* feeling frumpy

Goals:

~ lose weight
~ lower blood pressure
~ stop the ringing in my ears
~ feel healthier

Morning Check in ~
*I had my 2 coffees as usual. Milk & 1 level tsp. sugar.

*I did my 30 minutes on the treadmill. YAY! :-)
I feel now like I can do anything!!! I really feel great that I accomplished the 30 mins.
I almost didn't do it. But I went to Dr. Oz's website as I find it so inspiring.
I looked at some of the pages on his website that interested me, and followed some links to other websites.

Not that I am a Michael Jackson fan, but it was kind of interesting and got the time to fly by.

I grabbed a shower after my work out and hopped in the truck and went to town.

Came home and cleaned the kitchen and watered all the potted plants on the patio. It's a scorching hot day outside today, but I feel really good now that I've done my 30 mins for today. :-)
